The co-creator of Call of Duty, renowned for co-creating the globally famous video game Call of Duty, has passed away in a vehicle crash in the state of California he was 55 years old.

His passing was announced by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, the video game company he co-founded.

The influential industry figure died after his automobile collided and burst into flames on a motorway in LA on Sunday, US media outlets report.

"This represents a devastating loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's family, his loved ones, and the countless individuals inspired by his legacy," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts stated.
