From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a wide array of characters, and a exciting storyline featuring angels, evil spirits, and sinister influences growing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Spoilers for Episode 3 of the new season are included.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The third episode concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of characters who will split off from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, apart from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
That’s why, the initial installments of this story serve as an Prelude, connecting the individual narratives before splitting into three smaller tables: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.
What Defines the Combat Party
According to the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who are drawn to a classically intense battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might look mismatched, but the events of the latest installment show why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
First, the party understands precisely where to go next after a violent initial meeting with the antagonists.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose passing kicked off the campaign’s events—used the foes for his selfish purposes, entering the secret base, striking Thimble, and stealing all the powerful objects to sell off.
Casimir then settled his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with Timmony and advises that it is a hostile location.
- Tyranny and The healer, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to execute the fighter and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- But, their position as prominent individuals in the influential clan could help the team enter areas they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, Teor vowed a life debt to The savior for his deliverance and will now follow him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the authorities that rule the setting for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The rogue and The character are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The cleric turned against the powerful family and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the clan.
This means them few options but to travel to the northern region in quest for the antagonist.
Future Episodes
According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we find out that the warrior group will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight participants to assemble the Questers and Strategists groups.
Audiences can anticipate discovering which characters will be assigned to which table in the story’s last Overture episode, released on the upcoming Thursday.
