Liam Neeson has given his narration to a new documentary that questions the legitimacy of immunizations and praises ex- government figure Robert F Kennedy Jr.
Called "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is based on a bestselling book written by a disgraced researcher, who became famous during the pandemic for assertions that the illness was linked to a faulty batch of the seasonal immunization.
The publication's writing partner, the executive producer, has previously authored books with controversial radio host Alex Jones. The producer wrote online celebrating Neeson's participation in the documentary.
The team of Liam Neeson have provided a comment pushing back against suggestions that he supports anti-vaccine views.
"Everyone can recognize that misconduct may occur within the drug industry, but that cannot be conflated with opposition to vaccines," the statement states. "Neeson has never been, and cannot be described as, against vaccines. His long work with the global charity reinforces his consistent support for global immunisation initiatives."
It added that the performer did not shape the film's messaging and that inquiries about its assertions should be directed to the creators.
In the film, the narration provided by Neeson features several strong claims:
It includes a 2004 BBC documentary about AIDS medication trials on children, which was afterwards the subject of a correction by the corporation for violations of guidelines.
Last month, the political figure called on the CDC to alter its longstanding position that there is no causal relationship between immunizations and autism spectrum disorder. This supposed link is also referenced in the documentary, despite a recent study from the global health body reiterating no such link has been found.
Standing in contrast to the documentary's narrative, Neeson has previously shown clear advocacy for vaccines in his role as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
In 2022, he referred to vaccines as "an incredible achievement," stating that "The debate about vaccines in the past few years has overlooked how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in human history."
The film ends with Neeson's script stating, "This is not the conclusion of our journey. It is the beginning of a new chapter."
